LMB NYC: Concert Calendar (May 8-13) – Avett Brothers, Budos Band, Lotus, M83, Neon Indian, Steve Kimock, Undead Festival

Per usual, there’s lots going on this week in NYC live music, including shows by the Avett Brothers, the Budos Band, , , , , and MMW. Read on for all the highlights as I see ‘em….

If you’re more into singer-songwriter folk and rock, then there are some good options like the Avett Brothers, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and .

There’s also a ton of interesting electronic music going down this week. For the song-oriented electro-pop stylings, check out , , or . For something on the jammier side, is setting up show at Irving Plaza for two nights. Also, will be doing their psychedelic world-infused thang. And if you need something with a bit more of a dubstep feel, then Flux Paviliuon is probably your best bet.

There are also some great jazz and funk options this week, including the Budos Band who’ll be throwing down some more of their evil horn grooves at the Bell House this weekend. The is on tour and coming into town, while Alan’s main band, Soulive, takes a break. is hooking back up with , and to get down at Brooklyn Bowl (I know this won’t really be jazz or funk per se, but I can guarantee they’ll get funky at some point). And finally, we’ve also got the Undead Music Festival going at a few venues this weekend including sets by Medeski, Martin & Wood, Marco Benevento, Sex Mobb and a bunch of others.
